Only 4 cards can be pulled and placed in the adventure position. You refill the adventures when there is only one card left in this position.
Challenges= Major Arcana
Resources= Minor Arcana
In order to overcome the challenges you have to acquire enough resources.
Ok, so this is where we do some very simple math.

The numbers on the card equal their value

To overcome the challenges the number of resources has to add up to the number on the challenge card. The suit doesn’t matter only the number.

The wisdom position holds Pentacle cards and only 3 cards can sit there at a time.
The strength position holds Wand cards and only 1 card can sit in this position at a time.
The volition position holds Sword cards and only 1 can sit in this position at a time.
The satchel position holds all of the suit but only 3 can sit in this position at a time.

Vitality (25 pennies)- This is like an overdraft. If The Fool does not have enough resources in the cards to overcome the challenge, they can take the difference from the vitality pile. If The Fool runs out of vitality before overcoming all 21 challenges the game is over.

The Cup Cards- All of the Cup cards can be either used to overcome the challenge or exchanged for vitality.

Aces- All four of the Ace cards can be used to reshuffle the deck and adventures in the future position of the board. Each time you choose to reshuffle, remember to put the Ace card in the past position.

Court Cards- All of the court cards can be used in conjunction with a numbered card to double its value.

The past position of the board is for all of the challenges you overcome and choose not to keep.

If you’d like to make this game a little harder, instead of starting with 25 vitality; try 13.
