How To Play:

Choose A Movie

You start by picking out a movie, any movie. The rules you must choose a movie that you have never heard of or seen before, you can not read the description, and you can only choose by cover and title and nothing else.

Once you’ve picked your movie grab your deck and whatever you use to record your reading and try this spread.

After you’ve recorded all of your interactions, grab your snacks and watch the movie.

Once the movie is over, reflect on your interpretations. Did you predict something? Did it end how you expected?

Feel free to add or change whatever you like to make this activity more fun for you.

A Fool's Journey

If you’re trying to get better at reading Roman numerals this is the game for you. A Fool’s Journey Game is a game that uses tarot cards but it does not incorporate any of the card meanings. The game is similar to solitaire, only the numbers of the cards are important to understanding and learning to play.

What You'll Need:

A Tarot Deck

25 Coins

This guide to help understand card placements and positions.

Theme: The Fool is on a journey and this journey is filled with different adventures to go through and challenges to overcome. The goal for The Fool is to get through all of the challenges and adventures without losing all of their resources.

Here are the rules:

This game only uses 77 of the tarot cards. The Fool is set aside.

The Major Arcana cards are the challenges The Fool has to overcome.

The Minor Arcana cards and 25 pennies are The Fool’s resources.

The top of the layout is the adventure and challenge section and the bottom is the resource section.

When you start the game, take out The Fool card and place it in the middle of the board (surface you’re using). Shuffle the deck and place it facing down in the future position of your board.

Only 4 cards can be pulled and placed in the adventure position. You refill the adventures when there is only one card left in this position.

Challenges= Major Arcana

Resources= Minor Arcana

In order to overcome the challenges you have to acquire enough resources.

Ok, so this is where we do some very simple math.

To overcome the challenges the number of resources has to add up to the number on the challenge card. The suit doesn’t matter only the number.

The wisdom position holds Pentacle cards and only 3 cards can sit there at a time.

The strength position holds Wand cards and only 1 card can sit in this position at a time.

The volition position holds Sword cards and only 1 can sit in this position at a time.

The satchel position holds all of the suit but only 3 can sit in this position at a time.

Vitality (25 pennies)- This is like an overdraft. If The Fool does not have enough resources in the cards to overcome the challenge, they can take the difference from the vitality pile. If The Fool runs out of vitality before overcoming all 21 challenges the game is over.

The Cup Cards- All of the Cup cards can be either used to overcome the challenge or exchanged for vitality.

Aces- All four of the Ace cards can be used to reshuffle the deck and adventures in the future position of the board. Each time you choose to reshuffle, remember to put the Ace card in the past position.

The past position of the board is for all of the challenges you overcome and choose not to keep.

If you’d like to make this game a little harder, instead of starting with 25 vitality; try 13.

This game was created by Desomnd Meraz, I just added a little twist to it. Feel free to adjust the game how you’d like to make it the most fun for you.
